Insurance Injury Settlement

So far, I’m told by an orthopedic specialist that I have a compression fracture in my lower spine. The cause was an auto accident. I was a trucker with Schneider National. I drove as a team with another driver. I was asleep in the bunk, as my partner was driving, when a pickup truck went left of center and hit us nearly head on. We were both traveling at 65 MPH. We managed to escape before our semi burned to the ground in a matter of minutes. Two of the four occupants in the pickup truck were killed. We lost all of our personal property in the semi, of which $3,000 worth was mine. The other party only carried a $20,000 auto insurance policy, both property and bodily injury. Schneider National is taking most of it with a $150,000 claim. I currently have a worker’s comp. attorney, but I don’t have any idea what sort of settlement will be reached at this point. My back pain has been consistent for the past 6 months and seems to be worsening.

the other party admitted the fault and i went to emergency room twice for my injury. the claim adjustor of the other party insurance company is trying to settle the case for small amount of money. i don’t want to obtain a lawyer’s help as much as possible.

I was involved in a car accident june 21st 2008 this year.. i was driving down the street and when a suddenlywithout hesitation a car reversed out of a parking lot at rapid speed and hight the front right corner of my car.. Damages: Hood, Right Fender,Right Headlight, Front Bumper Lip, Engine Bay Framing, and Front Tie Rod ends..
Totally could not drive it home i own a mitsubishi lancer oz rally
so today they told me that the other guys insurance is going to pay for my damages to the car .. so i went to the body shop to sign off on the papers that say that body shop is going to make repairs to my vehicle..
i didnt go to the hospital but i am going to pain management therapy and i just did a MRI .Neck Back Lower Back , Shoulders and Right arm.
Hurting ever since the accident..
I have no points on my license .. i had never had a car accident this is my first and only accident i had.
Any Idea of what amount i should expect to get .. the lawyer will be taking a 3rd of my settlement..
is $35,000 a reasonable amount to consider?

It is manditory for me to see my chiropractor 3 times a week, for 12 weeks until my spine is better. He said he is considering my injury a spinal dislocation of some kind. I am now ready to negotiate a settlement with his insurance company, and he has USAA military insurance. I know the damage to my car was $2,300… and with all the medical bills combined its up to about $3,000+ now. I dont know how much to ask for as a settlement. Any advice on how to come up with an amount would be very much appreciated!!! Thanks!

A little over a year ago, I backed into my 23 month old daughter with the our car. A few months later our car insurance called and offered to settle her claim for $850. We were suprised that my daughter would get anything since I was the one that hit her. Our insurance explained that it was just like her getting hit by someone else, or me hitting another child. We wanted to make sure all her medical bills were being taken care of and our car insurance said yes they would. But we found out they didn’t know everything she had been through and what her injuries were. Now our car insurance has all the bills and the medical reports from the hospitals that she went to. Tomorrow they are suppose to call and offer a new settlement. My wife called around to both hospitals and both ambulance companies that we used and all the bills were about $10,000. Were not greedy, but we want to make sure my daughter gets all the money she should. That’s what the insurance is for after all.

End of July had bad car accident. Air bags deployed, car was totalled (insurance co. already paid property damage – other guy was at fault), but now there will be a medical settlement. The injuries were mostly large, nasty bruises and abrasions on arms and chest from air bags and seat belt. Went to the doctor, now pretty much healed, altho lot of pain for a time…couldn’t pick up a cup for instance. The adjuster is coming to see us (my grandaughter was injured, too), and I know he’s going to make an offer, but it will probably be small. I am retired, so no wage loss was incurred, but hey! It HURT! And I lost my car for over a month. I perform the function of “gramma-taxi” daily for my family and it was very stressfu not having a car plus dealing with the injuries. I don’t want a lot – after all – we all have to pay for insurance claims, but I don’t want to be mistreated either. And, I don’t want to contact our attorney, really. Just wanna deal with it fairly. Any suggestions?

I was in a car accident a year and a half ago and hurt my back. I have been treated since then to help resolve the issues to no luck. Recently i got an offer from the insurance company to settle this claim. It is a rather large sum of money, but considering the factors is still low. It is quite possible i may have this injury for the rest of my life and have been taking pain medication for it for the past year and a half. I am wondering if their is an amount over the initial offer that they usually go to without having to go to court. double, triple, anything like that. If anyone has any info that would be great. And just a side note, i do not have a lawyer for this.

my brother got injured on the job due to faulty tools and now has bilateral carpal tunnel and pain/ tendinitis in right arm/ hand, (2 years) the insurance company wants to settle with him but he does not know how much to ask for, is there a formula used to come up with a cash settlement amount?

I got rear-ended at a light.I had a PI attorney since day 1. I went to the chiropractor 3 times a week for 4 months. (also went to MRI, Orthopedist etc..) On the final report it says I have 5-6 % permanent damages. Also says i got bulged disks in the neck.
Just myy medical bills total about $12000.00 and the insurance made an offer of $8000.00
Should i take it or got to court?
Anyone had similar experience or any lawyer??
